Professional Summary
Through my over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health, I have gained a diverse range of clinical and forensic experience in the field of psychology. Early in my career I worked in outpatient clinics with child, adolescent and adult populations, conducting individual, group and couples counseling. Domestic violence and sex offender work has been a unifying focus in my career. Since coming to UB, my focus has shifted to serious mental illness and violence work.
I’ve learned that I gain a deep level of satisfaction in educating, training and supervising others, including psychology students, interns and psychiatry residents. These activities energize me and push me to always learn something new.
My time at UB, including experiences working in a jail environment and an acute inpatient psychiatric service has emphasized the importance of collaboration with other professionals, along with a commitment to remaining adaptive and flexible in my approaches to work with patients.

I am a proud Buffalo and Western New York booster, having lived here my entire life. Spending time with my wife and friends gives me my greatest joy. My love of travel helps re-energize me and kindles my curiosity about the world. I’m into most anything science fiction and fantasy related, whether a good book, movie, television show, board game or video game. Nature rejuvenates me, and I enjoy exploring all the wonderful outdoors the WNY area offers.
