Professional Summary

After graduating from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 1998, I remained in Buffalo for residency training. Upon graduation, I began working with the residency training program as the Associate Program Director. I have dedicated my career to psychiatric residency education. I became the Program Director in July 2023 and continue to enjoy finding ways to improve the residency curriculum and training experience. Using art to teach psychotherapy remains an area of interest.

I have been Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 2003. Currently, I work in the field of Consultation-Liaison (C-L) Psychiatry and have been Board Certified in the subspecialty since 2009. The C-L psychiatrist focuses on the care of patients with cooccurring psychiatric and medical conditions. In addition, the C-L psychiatrist collaborates with medical and surgical colleagues along with other members of the treatment team within the complex hospital system to optimize care of patients. I enjoy working at the interface of psychiatry and medicine. My clinical work also involves the opportunity to teach medical students, psychiatry and neurology residents.

I have a Certificate of Additional Training in Sports Psychiatry from the International Society of Sports Psychiatrists.  A special interest of mine is the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental health symptoms in athletes at all levels to enhance sports performance and quality of life.
